4 Outdoor Art Projects for Girls

Spring is here and it’s the perfect time for girls to get outside. Spending time outdoors can be great for building a girl’s strength, creativity and spirit. Last week we shared some of our favorite outside activities that build girls up. This week we thought we’d build on that by combining two of our true loves: nature and art! Professional artists are often inspired by nature. These project ideas make it easy for girls to find their own inspiration in the great outdoors.
1) Leaf Rubbings
Leaf rubbings are a fun way to highlight the beauty of the natural world. They are easy to make and just require paper and crayons.
2) Nature Collages
For a twist on a typical paper collage, try sending kids outside to make nature collages. They can use paper, glue and found objects like twigs and leaves to create unique pieces of art.
3) Sun Prints
Sun print paper is a neat way for girls to make their own artistic creations and explore the shapes found in nature.
4) Shadow Art
An alternative to sun prints, shadow art also allows girls to explore nature shapes, and is free, as long as you have paper and something to draw with.
