Get Crafty with Inspiring Painted Rocks!

Spring is here, and we think a fun craft with an empowering message is a great way to celebrate the season! This simple rock painting activity allows girls to unleash their creative side, while also lifting themselves and others up. These affirmation rocks can be passed from one girl to another as a way of saying “you rock!”
Here’s what you’ll need to make uplifting painted rocks:
- Large, smooth rocks: you can buy them at a craft store or online, but bonus points if you can find some out in nature!
- Paper towels
- Paint tray palette or aluminum foil
- Acrylic paint: pastels are perfect for spring, but choose any colors you want!
- Paint brush
- Paint marker
Step 1: Wash and scrub your rocks with soap and water
This will remove any dirt so that the paint will stick to the rock. Let the rocks dry before painting. You can this step if you buy your rocks from a store.
Step 2: Paint the entire rock with your paintbrush
You can squirt a bit of each color into a paint tray palette, or onto some aluminum foil. Allow the rock to dry completely.
Step 3: Write a positive message using a paint pen
