Imaginary Character Bookmarks for Book-Loving Girls
SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2023

Celebrate the back-to-school season in style with imaginary character bookmarks! These DIY bookmarks add a personalized touch to notebooks, textbooks, and your daughter's favorite leisure reads. Crafting is an excellent way to de-stress after a busy day at school, and these bookmarks provide a creative outlet to do just that.

Here’s what you’ll need:

- Craft Sticks
- Glue
- Googly Eyes
- Pipe Cleaners
- Pom Pom Balls
- Paper
- Markers
- Scissors
How To Make Your Bookmarks:
Step 1: Select a craft stick and color it.

Step 2: Glue a pom pom ball on the top of the craft stick.

Step 3: Cut a pipe cleaner to the desired length.

Step 4: Wrap a pipe cleaner around the craft stick under the pom pom ball. Add a little glue to secure the pipe cleaner.

Step 5: Optional Character Hands: Tie a pipe cleaner around the craft stick. Twist a loop at the end of both sides and pinch in to form hands and fingers.

Step 6: Glue the shorter pipe cleaner pieces on top of the pom pom balls for antennas.

Step 7: Shape the antennas.

Step 8: Glue on googly eyes.

Step 9: Draw and color accessories for your character. You can add bow ties, hair bows, or hats.

Step 10: Cut the accessories out.

Step 11: Glue accessories to your character.

Once the glue is dry, it’s time to find a book to read! If your daughter is a reluctant reader, consider making your own bookmark. Use your bookmark to set a daily or weekly reading goal for your daughter, and she can use her bookmark to track progress towards your goal. Happy reading!
