Spring Craft for Kids: Paper Cup Flowers

This fun craft is the perfect way to celebrate spring with your daughter! You can even add some science by discussing the different colors and flower parts as you work. We hope you enjoy making this craft as much as we did.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Paper cup
- Straw
- Sharpie Markers or Acrylic paint
- Scissors
- Construction paper
- Hot glue gun
How To Make Your Paper Cup Flowers
Step 1: Hold the cup and cut thin strips up and around your cup. The cut should reach to the bottom of the cup.
Step 2: Open your strips to form a flower. I pinched the pedals on the bottom of the cup to help form the flower shape.
Step 3: Use your Sharpies to color your flower. If your cup has a wax coating, we recommend using acrylic paint to paint your flower. Start with the center and then color your pedals.
Step 4: Use a black Sharpie to add details.
Step 5: Use your construction paper to draw two leaves for your flower. You can use a green marker to add details to your leaf.
Step 6: Use your scissors to cut your leaves out.
Step 7: Use hot glue to glue all your flower parts together. Use a straw for your stem.
Collect your flowers in a vase, use them in a play garden, or give them as gifts to brighten someone’s day!
