Help Girls Dream Big with a Spring Vision Board
MAY 5TH, 2022
We love spring for the sense of renewal it brings. As the ice thaws and flowers bloom, it’s natural to find ourselves dreaming about new beginnings.
As adults, we have carte blanche to envision and act on our new ideas, but what about girls? It’s easy to tell them what their goals should be, but they likely have plenty of aspirations of their own (even if they don’t realize it).
So this spring, why not empower the girl in your life by helping her design a spring vision board? With just scissors, glue and a couple of old magazines, you can help her work toward her wildest dreams.

How To Create a Vision Board for Girls
Supplies:
Chances are, you have everything you need for this project at home. You only need to head to the craft store if you want fancy embellishments.
Step 1: Dream Big
The real magic of this project happens before you ever open a glue stick. It’s time to help your girl decipher her dreams.
We recommend grabbing a journal and inviting her to free write to the following prompts:
- What makes you feel happy from head to toe?
- How would you spend your time if you weren’t at school all day?
- What are you really good at, and what do you want to get even better at?
- How can you use your skills to help others?
Step 2: Help Her Choose Her Goals
Based on her journal responses, help her create a list of two to four attainable goals. (Any more than that is likely to feel overwhelming.)
Step 3: Get Crafty
This is the crafty part! Help your girl search magazines for or draw pictures of anything that represents her goals.
Glue these images to your poster board, along with any inspiring decorations. We highly recommend some upbeat music to accompany this process!
Once her vision board is complete, help your goal display her board somewhere she’ll see it every day.

Step 4: Figure Out Her Next Steps
It’s time to grab a journal again. Now that your girl has completed her vision board, invite her to list concrete steps she needs to take to reach these goals.
Explain that the vision board won’t magically make her dreams come true, but instead it serves as an excellent reminder to keep working toward those goals.

Empowering Books to Keep the Dreams Coming
Young girls rarely lack the ideas and inspiration needed to achieve their dreams. But they don’t always have confidence in their own ability to make things happen. That’s why we’ve designed a line of empowering books and journals specifically for girls, to inspire them to keep reaching forward, even when facing societal headwinds, etc.
